India Policy Pioneers Program is India House’s flagship program for early and mid-career professionals, scholars, and changemakers who want to make a real difference. This 4 month blended learning program will provide you with the skills, knowledge, and network to drive real-world impact.
The Health specialization under the Policy Pioneers Program is for those ready to reimagine public health with empathy and innovation. You will work on real problems like access, affordability, and resilience and learn how to design systems that put people first.
Applications for the Health specialization will open with the September 2026 cohort.

The Health specialization focuses on why India’s health system struggles, and what it takes to fix it. Across 6 modules, you’ll engage with the policy levers, system design, and on-ground challenges that shape public health in India.
Policy Tools and Analytical Frameworks
Build core policy skills- from policy reading to data-driven analysis- while grasping the paradox between policy and politics.
Understanding Health and Health Policy
Explore health as a concept, its policy evolution, India’s healthcare structure, governance frameworks, key institutions, stakeholders, and systemic challenges.
Global Health and Comparative Systems
Assess India’s health security, the impact of climate change on health, and insights from global health systems and agreements.
Policy in Practice
Examine real-world policies through case studies, assessing impact, challenges, and the role of digital innovations.
Designing Policy Solutions
Use behavioral insights, systems thinking, and design thinking to develop practical, sustainable policy solutions.
